The recordings on this album constitute the material from a June 20th, 1968 studio session recorded by Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer (HGBS) and Joachim-Ernst Brendt in Germany's Black Forest. This is no ordinary recording. This enthralling Bill Evans session was recorded five days after a famous performance at the 1968 Montreux jazz festival by Evans, bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Jack DeJohnette. Verve's Montreux live recording won a Grammy, but this studio session has been in the vaults ever since.
2xHD is a brand known to audiophiles who love jazz. The team of producer André Perry and audiophile sound engineer René Laflamme have produced exceptional transfers from analog tape.

- From Audiophile Salon: This is one of the most extraordinary musical archeological finds, recorded June 20th, 1968, by Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer (HGBS) and Joachim-Ernst Brendt in Germany’s Black Forest Studio. This is no ordinary recording. It’s a remarkable document of an under-represented period in the career of one of the icons of Jazz.
2xHD received Positive Feedback’s ‘Best Sounding album of the year’ award for this album two years in a row.
- From Audiophilia: This new set from 2xHD Vinyl is even better. So good in fact, that I immediately added it to the Audiophilia Dream List ©. I’ve played the two record, 45 RPM set many times since then; so brilliant musically and sonically, it never outstays its welcome. Bill Evans: Some Other Time is both a historical gem and an audiophile treasure. Very highly recommended.
