Description
While I make every effort to grade and describe the condition of vinyl and covers as accurately as possible, I also understand that grading can be extremely subjective. Because of this, I tend to grade on the conservative side. I'd rather sell an item for a little less than have an unsatisfied buyer. eBay allows users the ability to zoom in incredibly close up on photos of vinyl and covers. This allows potential buyers to see even very minor imperfections. I strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this feature, rather than relying on a sellers grading and description. All unsealed vinyl is cleaned using an ultrasonic cleaner before shipping. All records will be shipped in protective inner and outer sleeves when possible. For added protection, records are sandwiched between cardboard inserts and shipped in Whiplash LP Mailers. A "Fragile - Handle With Care" label affixed to each LP Mailer. All of this increases my shipping costs, but it helps ensure that the record arrives to you in the best possible condition.
CONDITION: This compilation presents, on 18 LP'S, the full results of 20 recording sessions from the pivotal eight-year period (1956-63) that launched the remarkable career of Bill Evans and defined his position as one of the most significant, pace-setting jazz pianists of all time.
Here, in chronological order, are 151 performances, including the entire existing output of the legendary 1961 Village Vanguard session, as well as 17 selections from a previously unissued solo studio session and seven other unreleased items. Ranging from solo to quintet, this collection also features such major artists as Cannonball Adderley, Freddie Hubbard, Philly Joe Jones, Jim Hall, Percy Heath, Paul Chambers, Ron Carter, Zoot Sims, and Scott LaFaro.
Contains a 32-page illustrated booklet that includes rare photographs, full discographical details, an appreciation of Evans by noted critic Martin Williams, and personnal commentary on each session by producer Orrin Keepnews
Most of the 36 sides of vinyl appear to be in excellent (EX) condition, showing almost no signs of play. The few side rated less than EX are have very minor or no negative sonic impact during playback. These LP's sound fantastic. The hard boxes show signs of rubbing, bumping, wear on edges/corners from handling. Free Shipping. Due to eBay's 24 photo limit, I chose to include all side rated less than EX so potential buyers can make the most educated purchase.
