BILL HALEY IN BRAZIL.

Interesting video with the arrival of Bill Halley in Congonhas airport (São Paulo-Brazil). The reporter Murilo Antunes Alves interview the star in the airport lobby. Great to see Congonhas Airport in 1958, Royal Airlines. Highlights of the external Record and their cameras. From a time when the Record TV (Brazilian TV) was proud of the past, and rightly so.

In October 1975 Bill Haley & His Comets toured Brazil for two weeks. They covered 10 cities in the two week period, with 3 concerts in Rio De Janeiro and 2 in Sao Paulo. This concert is newsreel footage taken by a news crew on October 26, 1975 at the Anhembi (private youth sports club) in Sao Paulo. Sadly this was Rudy Pompilli's last tour with the band, as he died from lung cancer 4 months later. Band members are: Bill Haley-rhythm guitar; Rudy Pompilli-tenor sax; Tony Benson-drums; Ray Parsons-rhythm guitar; Jim Leback-electric bass and Bill Turner-lead guitar.
