Description
Bill Haley's 8th studio album, 'Bill Haley's Chicks' was originally released in the U.S in January of 1959. A few months later it was released in the UK on the Brunswick record label...extremely hard to find in decent condition.
What makes the copy I am offering even rarer is the fact that it is a Stereo pressing (STA 3011) Very few record collectors and fans had Hi-Fi Stereo systems during this time. In fact, most people had Mono sound systems until 1967. To find a Stereo pressing is hard enough...but finding one in this kind of condition is nearly impossible. I'm certain there isn't a cleaner copy on the planet.
Cover: Excellent++....the front of the jacket easily grades Near Mint....the lamination gleams beautifully and though the spine is very thin, it shows almost no wear at all. The back has some wear and scuffing mostly to the center area where it appears a sticker had been removed and left some traces of paper removal. The scalloped flipbacks are in near-perfect condition with the original [$2.35] price sticker still affixed to the upper right (see photo) All things considered, it is a near miracle that this thin sleeve has managed to survive almost 60 years and remain relatively unscathed.
Original Poly-Lined Inner-Sleeve: Near Mint- ....amazing condition....no seam splits and no tears.
Record: Near Mint....Astounding condition.....look at the pictures. The heavy and rigid vinyl looks like it was just pressed! Only some faint superficial lines can be made out under strong light.....they have absolutely no impact during playback. No surface noise...no distortion....Stunning 'Master Tape' audio. The deep-grooved maroon-colored labels are almost flawless...showing that this record has seen only 2 ~ 3 plays in almost 60 years. I can't imagine finding a better example.
