Description

The Sons of Champlin / Loosen Up Naturally - Capitol Records SWBB-200 (Stereo)(US)(1969) ...This auction is for an original Issue Stereo Record on U.S. vinyl. This early first edition features the banned cover with the "F-word" on front/back cover art still (picture #3).

  The Sons were late out of the starting blocks as far as psychedelic San Francisco rock bands were concerned. They tried to make up for that with a major statement, this double-LP running over an hour. They also distinguish themselves immediately in terms of their instrumentation and arranging style. If the San Francisco sound is defined by simple folk-style song structures extended by long guitar solos, this is something entirely different. The Sons take their inspiration from R&B and jazz, to which they then apply the psychedelic treatment. There is also a talented lead guitarist with Terry Haggerty.
