"Bill Watrous & Carl Fontana" - Atlas (Japan) LA27-1030
Very scarce Japan only LP pressing from 1984 in Mint condition! Cover is EX very clean, no seam splits, sharp corners. Grail LP meeting of two jazz trombone giants, Watrous and Fontana, with Ross Tompkins, Bob Maize, and Jake Hanna. As I understand it, this was the last release on the Japanese Atlas label which specialized in recording many of the legendary Los Angeles based jazz greats. It was released only briefly before the company folded. This particular copy was owned by the great bass trombonist Phil Teele. Please see images for details.
I've been a record collector since 1976 and a dealer for over 20 years. I grade fairly and honestly using the Goldmine grading standards for vinyl and VJM grading for shellac (78's). I use new record mailers and protect the album cover and vinyl (separated in a poly sleeve to avoid seam splits) with 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 corrugated pads.
