Billie Holiday and Her Orchestra, with Lester Young, Me Myself And I and Without Your Love. Recorded June 15, 1937. Orchestra included Lester Young, Buck Clayton, Edmond Hall, James Sherman, Freddy Green, Walter Page, Jo Jones. Record is in E- to VG+ condition. label crinkle on Without Your Love. Billie was the premiere song stylist of the jazz/ swing era in the 1930s-40s-50s. She recorded under her own name and with bands as varied as Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Paul Whiteman, Count Basie, Teddy Wilson, etc.She set the style for jazz singing- an influence still felt today, and was influenced herself by the great Louis Armstrong Please see photos.
