Billie Holiday And Her Orchestra May 11, 1938. Vocalion record number 4126. You Go To MY Head and The Moon Looks Down And Laughs. Orchestra included Bernard Anderson, Buster Bailey. Babe Russin, Claude Thornhill, John Kirby and Cozy Cole. Record is in E Condition. Billie was the premiere song stylist of the jazz/ swing era in the 1930s-40s-50s. She recorded under her own name and with bands as varied as Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Paul Whiteman, Count Basie, Teddy Wilson, etc.She set the style for jazz singing- an influence still felt today, and was influenced herself by the great Louis Armstrong Please see photos.
