Description

An original 1st Press of FURY from 1963. Matrix 1A/2A. Stampers 1K/1I - excellent audio provenance [one of the 1st copies]. Note the labels mention 'recording 1st pub 1963'. They also exhibit 'MT' tax code - which you would expect on an early 1st. They are also so early they have a label error on - the "speed 33" is mentioned TWICE! This error was picked up quickly and you will only find one mention on later copies. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1963 cover with exposed flipbacks and a pinched spine. We also have the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. If great audio is your bag then take a close look at this one. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. This is a total belter... Given the vintage it is ridiculously well preserved. You can kind of tell the copy is close onto those original masters. The audio just has so much warm and presence. A couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots. Otherwise pretty much perfect.
Cover (Ex-) This is always the trickiest spot - the cover. Usually knackered or badly aged. But this specimen is one of the tidiest I've ever got my hands on - impressive. Lovely clean and flat front with just a couple of thumbnails in the middle. Worth mentioning many copies will have aged or faded on the front - no issues at all, here. Bright vibrant colours. The rear has avoided much of the ageing process. Just a couple of minor blemishes - that's all. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) A bit of ageing. Bag present. No splits.
