Description

Billy Joel’s The Stranger LP released in 1977 on the CBS label. The LP is in it’s original cover and inner sleeve and includes the separate lyric sheet which also lists the players on all the songs plus on it’s reverse side a photo of Billy with a pair of boxing gloves hanging from his neck. This pressing of the LP has run-out stamps of CBS-S 82311 A6 on side 1 and CBS-S 82311 B5 on side 2. Side 2 finishes with the bonus track 6 which is not listed on either the LP label, the song sheet or the cover. This track is a reprise of The Stranger’s tune with (presumably) Billy whistling the main theme of the song.

Side 1 of the LP is visually in very good condition while side 2 has some visual scratch marks over the last 3 tracks. The LP has been cleaned, played and checked for sound quality on a Pro-Ject turntable with an ADC cartridge - There are 4 audible clicks near the start of track A3, 2 clicks towards the end of track B1, a feint click near the start of track B3 plus one click immediately after the end of track B3. The LP is otherwise audibly very good.

The inner sleeve is in very good overall condition but has some creases in one top corner. The lyric sheet has some handling creases but is otherwise in very good overall condition. The cover has a few crease and scuff marks but is otherwise in very good condition.

The LP will be shipped via Royal Mail’s Second Class Signed For service in a cardboard LP mailer with 2 extra stiffeners. UK buyers only. See my other items for sale for more LPs and CDs.
