Blue Records Volume 2x by Billy Mitchell: Party Record Album. Great set of risque and double entendre songs by the black comedian Billy Mitchell, with bluesy boogie piano backing. The textured fabric cover/booklet is intact with a sticker stain upper right front cover, a finger tip size dent with chipping in the bottom front edge, and a two inch line of splitting along the spine at the bottom on one edge. Contains four 78s with new looking labels and shellac in VG++ condition. Also includes a Blue Record Co. order form mailer. Dootsie Williams owned this label, and was a well known entertainer and bandleader in the Central Avenue area of Los Angeles, before he became a record label owner. He owned Dooto and Dootone, as collectors are aware. But Blue was his first record label, and all the issues in their various categories are listed in the included catalog order form mailer, printed in purple ink. This has a 2 inch tear along it's dotted line, but is other wise ok, with the expected foxing and brittleness of 60 year old paper. Billy Mitchell's insinuating vocals are backed on all 8 songs by piano in a boogie/blues saloon sort of style. Grade cover VG++, all four records VG++, insert VG++.
