Legendary R&B singer/songwriter Billy Stewart only released three albums in his short life before dying in a car accident on the way to a gig in 1970.
This listing is for his 1st album, "I Do Love You." The lp was first released in mono in 1965. This album is Chess's original U.S. stereo pressing, released in 1966. It has been played a few times, but the vinyl is absolutely clean, no scratches or scuffs visible under an LED light source. The jacket is also in beautiful condition except for some minor damage to the upper left corner -- please see photo #2. White back of jacket is not quite assembly line fresh -- it's over a half-century old -- but there are no stains or rips. Original plain dust jacket is yellowed. I will put it in a new plastic one.
Also included in the listing is "Billy Stewart Remembered," the first and best of many Chess compilations, this one released in stereo in 1970. Five of its 12 tracks are from "I Do Love You," the rest drawn from his 2nd & 3rd LPS and singles including his stunning version of the Gershwins' "Summertime." The pristine jacket is still in shrink wrap (opened.) The vinyl is completely clean on side 2. Two light scratches on side 1 that do not appear to be deep enough to affect play. Original plain dust jacket.
