Description

w/Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn on two concert grand pianos; Songs: Cotton Tail-slight static; C Jam Blues-some scratches but sound bright; Flamingo; Bang Up Blues; Tonk; Johnny Come Lately-few scratches; In A Blue Summer Garden- some pops; Great Times.  Overall: light static in background.  Jacket cond: 3" split center left side, rough edges to paper graphic, upper left corner loose,1/4" chip in edge of side B.  Am using Goldmine Series to learn condition codes, etc.  This record is 60 yrs old, not perfect but still enjoyable!  Interesting note: Duke and Billy were known to play the same piano at the same time, but here they each have a concert grand piano, and they play back and forth--they couldn't identify who was playing at given times on this record.
