Description
"Los Angeles Christmas Party for New York Office from Jack, Bing, Connie, Bob & Victor" is the correct title of this item, although it doesn't appear on the label of this record.
Jack Kapp, Bing Crosby, Connie Boswell, Bob Crosby and band, and Victor Young recorded this as a seasonal greeting for Decca's executives in New York. The Crosby band plays a hot chorus of Jingle Bells, then the other participants speak or sing their Christmas greetings and joke around. (Bob Crosby reminds Decca's treasurer Milton Rackmil to send some checks.) Then Bing and Connie sing another swinging, very informal version of "Jingle Bells" with the band. There is much laughter, and it all sounds very spontaneous.
This rare disc is a private Decca shellac master pressing of matrix DLA-2273, recorded in Hollywood on December 13, 1940. There was no commercial issue. This record appeared on ebay only once, in 2016. This is the same copy offered then.
This one-sided record is in E+ condition.
