Up for bid is this original vintage 1945 issued set of five (5) 78 rpm shellac records featuring Bing Crosby singing many holiday classics. The set is titled “Merry Christmas” and this was the original 5-record set that was reduced to 4 records in 1947. This is Decca Album No. A-403. HOWEVER, only two of the five records is from the original set (Silent Night, Holy Night/Adeste Fideles and Jingle Bells/Santa Claus is Coming to Town). The other records, including White Christmas, are Christmas songs sung by Bing Crosby, but are not all of the same songs that came in the original A-403 set. Please see the pictures to confirm all of the songs included. Both of the two original records are in very good plus to excellent condition. The third record includes the songs White Christmas and Let’s Start the New Year Right (from the set No. A-306, the motion picture soundtrack “Holiday Inn”). This record is in very good condition with some light scratches. The third record contains Silver Bells and That Christmas Feeling. This record is in very good to very good plus condition with some light scuffs and scratches. The final fifth record includes Sleigh Bell Serenade and Keep It A Secret. The record is in very good plus condition. The binder is in very good plus to excellent condition with just some slight staining on the back outer edge and a bit of minor edge wear in other spots.
