Description

Up for bid is this vintage 1947 (copyright 1945) issued set of three (the fourth of the original records in the set broke which included the songs White Christmas and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen) 78 rpm shellac records featuring Bing Crosby.  The set is titled “Merry Christmas” and is Decca Album No. A-550. The three original remaining 78 rpm records are: Silent Night/Adeste Fideles, Faith of Our Fathers/I’ll Be Home for Christmas, and Jingle Bells/Sana Claus Is Comin’ to Town.  The last two songs also feature the Andrews Sisters.  These are all in very good to very good plus condition with just a few light scratches that should have minimal effect on sound quality.  The best sound is reproduced using a turntable with a cartridge/stylus specifically designed for 78 rpm records.   The book/sleeves are in very good plus condition with some minor edge wear.  While one record is missing from the original A-550 set, these original Decca 78 records are great Christmas classics from Bing Crosby.  This is a no reserve auction.  Shipping on this item is a flat $6.95 anywhere in the 48 continental United States.
