This is a vintage rare and collectible fan-club only release, and I am the first and only owner. These copies were numbered by hand (ballpoint ink inside the jacket), and this is number 1143. (I don't know how many were made.) This is Marc Almond of Soft Cell and Marc and the Mambas performing live as Raoul and The Ruined (with band members Annie Hogan, Richard Riley, Bill McGee, Martin McCormick Audrey Riley, Gary Barnacle and more). Includes the eight songs "The Plague," "Fun City" (a great torch-song version of that Soft Cell classic), "In My Room," "Gloomy Sunday," "Switchblade Operator," "Muleskinner Blues," "Blue Prelude" and "Sleaze." Also note that this original vinyl release includes some funny between-song banter from Almond that (according to what I've read online) was deleted from the CD release. This is on the Gutter Hearts label (that was the name of Almond's fan club). As the text at the bottom of the back cover says, "Thankx to Phonogram for giving us their kind permission to release this special limited 'gutter-hearts' album." The catalog number is GH1, and there is no UPC number.

My standard disclaimer about vinyl: As with all vinyl records, there will be at least some pops, clicks and other surface noise even on a brand-new record, so do not expect flawlessly pristine CD sound quality. I grade on the following scale: Like New, Very Good (some flaws, nothing major), Good (more noticeable flaws, but still acceptable), Fair (looking pretty bad, but not a total disaster) and Poor (really bad with major defects).

SPECIFIC DETAILS:

Jacket: VERY GOOD, with some crimps and impressions that were there the day I received it in the trans-Atlantic mail way back in the 1980s from England. (As I recall, it wasn't packed especially well.) Most noticeable crimp is a diagonal impression on the back cover at top left. Not a disaster, but be aware that the jacket is not in smoothly mint condition.

Record: Although it looks brand new and unplayed, I'm calling the record itself VERY GOOD instead of Like New because it is slightly warped. It plays fine on my turntable and sounds great (no skips or big "wows" or anything), but be aware that it is wavy enough to be noticed when you're playing it.

Inner sleeve: Plain white paper inner sleeve has been slit completely down one side, just because I used to do that to keep the record from sliding against the inner sleeve's paper edge when removing it. Thankfully, I eventually wised up and stopped doing that.

I only get exactly the same shipping amount that a US bidder would pay, and all of the rest goes to eBay -- so don't blame me if eBay's shipping prices to other countries are high, because I have absolutely no control over them! So whatever price eBay's shipping calculator lists is how much shipping will cost you, and there are no alternatives.
