Black Cat Bones, "Barbed Wire Sandwich"


On offer here is an UK original copy of the mega-rare album Black Cat Bones, "Barbed Wire Sandwich" from 1970. Decca Nova SDN 15. Heavy psych-blues from the band that shortly after this album reformed as Leaf Hound.




Record: VG-


Vinyl has plenty of light surface marks, scuffs and hairlines. Side 2 is somewhat better than side 1. No deep surface marks or heavy scratches. No sticks or jumps. Plays nice, but with background crackle. Not a copy for the mint collector. 


Blue and silver labels with a few spindlemarks. No stickers or writing.

Sleeve: VG+


Front laminated sleeve, printed by Senol Printing Limited. Light ringwear on front and back. Some creasings near opening and near spine. Fully intact top and bottom seams with hardly any wear. Spine is fully readable. No splits or sticker tears. Remnants of a small pricetag at right bottom corner on the backsleeve. Please see the pictures!


Fully intact original lined Decca stereo innersleeve with light creasings.





Grading


Records are graded very conservatively, and inspections are done under a strong halogen lamp. I follow the Record Collector grading system.




Record cleaning and playing


All my records are carefully cleaned using a professional Loricraft PRC 6 record cleaning machine for superior sound and supreme vinyl preservation. After cleaning the record is put in a brand new lined inner sleeve. Of course, the original inner sleeve is always included if existing.


The amount of surface noise, crackle etc depends on the condition of the record, but also on the kind of equipment used. This record has been graded using an extremely revealing top quality high end system. Turntable: Brinkmann Balance. Tonearm: Thales Simplicity. Cartridge: Lyra Atlas SL, tracking at 1.72 grams.
