Description
"Shake Your Moneymaker" is the debut album by the American rock band The Black Crowes released in January 1990 on Def American Recordings. It is the only album by the band to feature guitarist Jeff Cease. The album is named after a classic blues song written by Elmore James. The Black Crowes have played the song live many times over the years, but is not included on the album. Hit singles off the record were, "Hard to Handle", "She Talks to Angels," "Jealous Again" and "Twice as Hard". Guest musicians were Chuck Levell on piano/organ and Brenden O'Brien who produced Pearl Jam,Stone Temple Pilots,Korn,AC/DC,Train etc., This record is the 1990 UK Original Pressing on the Def American Label with the Original Inner Sleeve. (Note: In 1993, Rick Rubin found the word "def" in a dictionary, and renamed the label American Recordings after a large mock-funeral that was presided over by the Reverend Al Sharpton. Rubin felt that the "mainstreaming" of the word "def" was against the anti-establishment image that he was trying to project for the company. All Def American products that was in-print at the time of the name switch was repressed with the new American Recording logo.) This is also "the record" that credits George Drakoulias as producer. Later pressing has his named removed from the credits. The catalog number on the spine is: 842 515-1. Bar code matrix # is: 0 42284 25151 8. Vinyl record is visually graded as a strong EX+. Cover is graded as EX+. Record was stored in a heavy duty anvil case since 2006 and comes from a smoke/pet free home. Shipped following business day as soon as payment is received.
