Description
This is an ORIGINAL USA pressing of Black Flag's debut album, "Damaged" on Unicorn Records / SST (see photos for label detail) from 1981. This is NOT A REISSUE.
About this pressing: This particular 1981 first release, has a darker cover art image (compared to the 1984 reissue), and has a RARE sticker on the jacket (backside), that states "As a parent... I found it an anti-parent record", this sticker apparently was applied to some of the initial jackets to cover up "MCA Distribution..." printed on the back. (Unicorn was owned by MCA at that time), as MCA did not want their name/logo on an LP with lyrically strong negative influences. These stickers are also special and collectable because they were affixed to the jacket by the band members themselves at the pressing plant, per order by MCA Records in agreement to move forward with the release.
Vinyl: G+; it has wear, it has several surface scuffs but it doesnt sound as bad as it looks. Still has some noise, but it didn't skip at playback. Label includes both Unicorn Records as well as the SST logo.
Deadwax: side 1 has "comin' at ya" etched, and side 2 states "the whole gelatinous thing" etched into the deadwax on the vinyl run-out groove.
Jacket: G+; crease on top, name stamped on front of jacket, general wear (see pics), top 3" seam split, its still holding together though!!! Your item will be packaged with care. Many collectors believe the jacket holds most of the albums overall value.
Some things about shipping: Vinyl will be pulled from jacket to avoid damage to jacket or record during transport, and will have inserts to give the package strength.
