Description
This is the super-rare (only a few hundreds made) Black Flag “Thirsty and Miserable / Life of Pain” 7”, also known as the “Licorice Pizza” 7” because it was a limited pressing and was only available as a giveaway at one single Black Flag show and at the Licorice Pizza record store chain which was only present around L.A.It was a split release by SST and Unicorn Records. The band made it in 1981 to show their appreciation of all the support from Black Flag Fans and Licorice Pizza Inc. Side one features a rougher version of the song “Thirsty and Miserable” than the one on the “Damaged” LP and side two features a live version of “Life of Pain” recorded Live at Target in San Francisco. These versions are NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE ELSE! This is from the short but glorious era of the “Five-piece-mega-Flag” with Henry Rollins on vocals, Greg Ginn on lead guitar, Dez Cadena on second guitar and vocals, Chuck Dukowski on bass and Robo on drums. In the dead wax of this record, you can read: “K disc”, “B – 1 – A” and “B – 1 – B” One of the RAREST BLACK FLAG 7”’S EVER and a MUST-HAVE for any Black Flag or L.A. Punk enthusiast!
