Black Merda are a rarity, they are from Detroit and considered the first all black rock band which is pretty remarkable.  The resemblance sonically to Jimi Hendrix is quite impressive at times, especially during "Prophet", and "Cynthy-Ruth".  During slower moments like "Think of Me" it seems they obtained a bit of influence from Led Zeppelin as well.  The vocals are pretty perfect, and the guitar playing on this album is really well done.  It's the moments they rock hardest and delve a bit into funk area that they really excel. They deserved far more attention then they ever got (plus at times the closest thing to Hendrix imaginable).
