DESCRIPTION: Black Sabbath - 1st self titled LP. Complete 1st UK pressing with earliest 1Y1 420 12 3 /2Y1 420 12 12 matrix, Big swirl label with "A Philips Record Product" credit, gate fold sleeve with credits in capital letters, No credit for Dunbar and "all Vertigo recordings". This is an unusual sleeve as most with the composers credits in capitals have the "Stereo recordings" text. . Complete with correct Vertigo swirl inner dated 0470. My own copy for many years until a recent upgrade. Packed this weighs over 500gm so overseas postage is as for a double. All postage costs include insurance and top quality packaging. LABEL AND CATALOGUE NUMBER: Vertigo VO 6 847 903 VTY YEAR OF RELEASE: 1970 COUNTRY OF RELEASE: UK CONDITION (VINYL/COVER): VG/G+. Vinyl is clean with a nice sheen and a fair few hairlines and brushing lines. Nothing worse. Lower end VG visually but strong VG sound wise. Played all of this this morning on my budget deck. Sits flat on the turntable. Plays not too far off EX. Music is generally clear, clean, vibrant and loud. It has some ticks between the tracks and in the quieter passages- brief intro to "Sleeping Village" but the music remains loud and prominent throughout . Its a great LP and this is the best way to listen to it. Gate fold sleeve is in acceptable shape . It is firm and square and has heavy edge wear (lengthy split to top edge and moderate to bottom edge) , moderate corner wear and only light creasing. Inside of gatefold has some light to moderate rubbing and a few dots where the black print has come away Swirl inner is in EX or better shape with minimal wear and no splits or writing . Poly is still fully attached. Clean Vertigo swirl labels- check out the photos. No writing, rips, stickers or sticker tears. Nice sounding complete original 1st UK pressing of one of the best Lps ever. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER SABBATH/PUNK/METAL/CLASSIC/HARD ROCK LISTINGS IN MY EBAY SHOP. Grading system: I use UK’s “Record Collector” Grading system. I DO PLAY EVERY RECORD I LIST NOW even though its often just quite briefly. Please bear in mind you may get a touch of background sound, even if its just on intros and between the tracks on 30-40 year old vinyl records!! :: MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface mark or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc. I will at times use a + or - to indicate when a record falls between the grades. I REMOVE ALL VINYL FROM SLEEVES PRIOR TO POSTING. RECORDS ARE SENT IN BEST QUALITY MAILERS WITH 2 STIFFENERS. I ALWAYS COMBINE POSTAGE BUT COST DEPENDS ENTIRELY ON WEIGHT OF PACKAGE. EACH EXTRA SINGLE DISC LP IS ROUGHLY £1.75 TO EUROPE, £2.75 TO THE AMERICAS AND £3.25 TO THE REST OF THE WORLD.
