Description
On offer is a set of both the VERTIGO SWIRL and the VERTIGO SPACESHIP variants of the Black Sabbath stereo LP Vol 4 as released on the Vertigo label catalogue number 6360 071 in 1972.
THE SPACESHIP issue is described as follows- The gatefold sleeve is in lovely condition and has been placed in a plastic bag ever since it was originally purchased. It comes with its original booklet loose inside the cover. The booklet is in great condition due to the fact it has been protected for all these years within the plastic sleeve. Visually the vinyl is excellent with a lovely sheen and plays well with some minor surface noise between tracks. Overall I would grade the vinyl VG+EX- and the sleeve EX. The disc is housed in its original Vertigo sleeve (see illustrations).
THE SWIRL issue is descibed as follows:- The gatefold sleeve is in lovely condition and has been placed in a plastic bag ever since it was originally purchased over 30 years ago. It comes with its original booklet still attached to the gatefold inner cover. The booklet is in great condition due to the fact it has been protected for all these years within the plastic sleeve. Visually the vinyl is excellent with a lovely sheen and plays beautifully. The disc is housed in its original Vertigo sleeve (see illustrations).
The differences between the 2 issues in summary are as follows... THE SPACESHIP does not have the booklet attached - it is loose in the cover. The SPACESHIP sleeve has a sticker 63600 071 WWA 009 DE LUXE on it and a printed D. This sleeve has Printed in Germany on the inside gatefold. The SPACESHIP disc has MADE IN ENGLAND printed on the record labels......... THE SWIRL has the booklet attached to the inner gatefold sleeve. The cover has Printed and Made by Howard Printers (Slough) on it. There is no sticker on the back cover - and has VO PRICE CODE 6360 071 printed on it. The disc has a SWIRL on Side A.
I decided to sell the 2 together as they are sufficiently different (I hope) to interest someone who collects the different variants of the Vertigo label LPs.
