Description

Never-played copy of the Black Sabbath "Black Box...The Complete Original Black Sabbath (1970-1978) CD boxset (Warner Bros. Records/Rhino Records, 2004). This is the definitive Sabbath collection, as it contains the band's first 8 albums, all of which were released by the original band led by vocalist Ozzy Osbourne; this boxset also includes a 4-song DVD of Sabbath performing live on a German television show in about 1972!  Includes an awesome 77-page velveteen-covered booklet full of photos and excellent liner notes!  Boxset has been opened because the factory shrinkwrap was unraveling. The back of the outer box has a slight ripple (see photo # 5) and the top edges of the 2 inner boxes have very slight tears (see photo # 6). The CD's have never been played, but have been removed from the like-new cardboard cases for inspection. This 8-CD/1 DVD boxset has a retail price of $99.99. Actual item being sold is pictured. I always use sturdy cardboard mailers and plenty of packing material!   FREE SHIPPING to buyers in the continental United States! Shipping and handling to other destinations is negotiated. Insurance available at the buyer’s option. Please wait to receive an invoice before submitting your payment! (Invoices are sent out within 1-business day). International shipping and handling is negotiated. Insurance available at the buyer’s option.  No shipments will be made to Italy; the Italian mail service “loses” too many packages!   I offer a 100%  money-back guarantee; I will refund the entire purchase price, including shipping both ways, to any buyer who is not satisfied! (Note: I have never had an item returned!)  Save me as a favorite seller, as I will be selling about 10,000 records and CD's out of my personal collection over the next 3 years.  Email any "want lists" or questions to vertigomus@aol.com.  Keep checking my list and store...thanks!

This release includes a bonus DVD featuring live footage of Black Sabbath performing "Black Sabbath," "Paranoid," "Iron Man," and "Blue Suede Shoes" on the German television show THE BEAT CLUB.
Black Sabbath: Ozzy Osbourne (vocals); Tony Iommi (guitar); Terry "Geezer" Butler (bass); Bill Ward (drums).
Producers: Rodger Bain, Patrick Meehan, Black Sabbath, Mike Butcher.
Recorded between 1972 & 1978. Includes liner notes by Chris Welch and Brian Ives Tim Scanlin.
Although Ozzy Osbourne has had a huge cultural impact as both a solo artist and an unlikely TV star, his true legacy lies in the eight albums he recorded with Black Sabbath between 1970 and 1978. Though musical performers in various genres regularly conjured up images of evil (most notably the Rolling Stones on "Sympathy for the Devil"), no act ever actually sounded consistently evil until Sabbath's self-titled first record. The British quartet's sound arrived fully formed, with Tony Iommi's crushing guitar riffs, Geezer Butler's ominous bass lines, and Bill Ward's almost-tribal drumming perfectly complementing Osbourne's haunting vocals.
This gorgeously morbid, pitch-black box set chronicles Sabbath's development, including early-'70s tracks such as the doom-laden "Black Sabbath," the powerful anti-military song "War Pigs," and the fierce "Supernaut," all included on one of the group's indisputably influential first four albums. Even though the latter half of the set doesn't always rival the brilliance found on the former, the BLACK BOX, as a whole, reveals a formidable musical force that shaped the entire genre of heavy metal and permanently altered the landscape of rock & roll.
