Description
Artist: Black Sabbath Title: Forbidden
Format: LP, 33&1/3 RPM Type: First Pressing
Label: I.R.S. CatNo: 830620 Date: June 5th, 1995
Black Sabbath (Tony Iommi, Neil Murray, Cozy Powell, Tony Martin) released their 18th studio recording on June 5th, 1995. This was the height of the compact disk era, and the bottom of vinyl record sales. So much so, that I.R.S. Records decided to release this to the world on CD only. Except for Brazil, where they felt they still had a small market of vinyl afficianados. Even there, they only pressed a small batch of them. This has been a tough record to acquire on vinyl (that wasn't a counterfeit) since the day it was released, and as the years have passed finding one in good condition has only become more difficult.
Up for auction is an authentic, first pressing of Forbidden, on the I.R.S. Records label released in Brazil on June 5th, 1995. Matrix numbers are stamped, cover artwork and label text is crisp, manufacturer and distributor correctly attributed on back cover and labels. This is the real thing. I grade the cover VG+, and the disk VG+ as well.
The original owner was excited about having it, and in an attempt at preventing thievery, they wrote their name on the labels. The shop where it was purchased has a sticker affixed to the back cover, in the lower right. Be sure to check the pictures!
