Description
Iconic and influential are two words describing the music on this release from Black Sabbath in 1970. On the collectable Vertigo label with the spirals, it has been a pleasure to listen to this again after so long and it is easy to acknowledge the impact this music continues to have 40 years on with bands and fans alike. Tracks: WAR PIGS - PARANOID - PLANET CARAVAN - IRON MAN - ELECTRIC FUNERAL - HAND OF DOOM - RAT SALAD - FAIRIES WEAR BOOTS. Condition - vinyl is clean with some light marks to the playing surface, but being a heavy grade vinyl the quality is great and playback doesn't suffer. The 33 1/3 has been scratched out on the label which is otherwise clean, and the spiral label on side A has light biro marking. Both labels show spindle marks consistent with the condition of the playing surface. The cover hasn't fared so well, having above moderate edge wear - all edges are almost colourless card - that said, there are no splits or tears and no defacement to the cover. Inside is good with some foxing to the left edge. There is also a little hard, residue on the back cover, possibly paint but it is small. The original, lined inner spiral bag is intact but is showing some fading and creasing. Perhaps not for the collector, but for a great slab of good grade vinyl that will play back very well indeed it is perfect.
