This has the following 1st press matrix numbers: Side 1: 1Y/1 420 Side 2: 2Y/1 420 Mother stampers: Side 1. '' 1 1 0 '' (early ever pressing) 0 4 (at 2 o'clock) Side 2. '' 1 1 5 " (early pressing) 0 6 (at 4 o'clock).
This is not quite an easy task to grade this great album with stunning audio of the first press but I try to be objective. So...
Vinyl VG++ Under bright light fine hairlines, scuffs and some fine scratches were visible. I have played the record and it sounds great.There is no background noise and only light crackle which can be heard in the quiet parts and the run-ins/outs. There are repetitive cli?ks at first half of "Solitude". They are not so loud but...they are. Only this does not allow me to grade the record like EX.
Sleeve EX- Laminate box cover is really nice glossy and clean with no damage, writing, splits, tears etc and just light signs of use and close to EX condition. Unlike most examples it retains its original box shape with only minimal flattening. There are a few short creases near the edges and one crease at the lower right corner (pic.7), slight lifting of laminate near the spine (pic.4). It is otherwise a very well preserved sleeve indeed.(please see photo)

Inner sleeve VG+ The swirl inner sleeve has splits, just some creasing and signs of age. (please see photo).

This is the first press of this iconic LP with EXCELLENT CLEAR AUDIO.
Grading System: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, I have added a (+) or (-) to my gradins where applicable.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
