The eighth release from Black Sabbath (Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi), Never Say Die! was an attempted step towards commercial acceptance, put together while the band was burned out and falling apart. It features lead vocal by Bill Ward on one track (the first and only time that happened) due to band politics, and one song remained an instrumental for the same reason.
Regardless, their efforts in 1978 have left me with this very nice copy of that album to auction off today. The cover is near mint, retaining its original high gloss, and exhibiting the slightest amount of pushing on corners. The original, custom, inner sleeve has kept its integrity but managed to acquire some creases over the years. The disk is also impeccable, near mint, although the labels sport some spindle tracks.
Notably, this promotional copy comes with a gold-embossed "promotional only" stamp on the front cover as well as the 24 page "The Ten Year War" satirical book that includes illustrations by "F. Gutierrez", done in a style that is straight-up Robert Crumb. It's a nifty artifact that takes one long, prolonged shot at the music critic industry, and it is original to this promo release from 1978. I have included pictures of the front and back, as well as the first two pages and last two pages. It is also nearly mint, with no writing, stains, creases, tears, etc.
