Black Sabbath PARANOID 1ST Press Vertigo VERY NICE Record LP.
Just managed to get another so this, my original 1st press LP owned from new, has to go I'm sorry to say.
1st pressings are really quite rare. then not long after, the second press was released which was the Small vertigo swirl.
I went to see them on the Paranoid tour in January 1971...cost 16 shillings or 65p, those were indeed the days! I bought this from Rare Records in Sunny Manchester the day very afterwards.
The sleeve is Very Good these matt black sleeves were unlaminated and did suffer, but the spine is quite nice just minor creasing and rubbing top and bottom I would grade it as Very Good.
I did write the track times next to the track listing as shown...ho hum..
The inner sleeve is the original NOT a modern replica and also in Very Good condition
Just relistened to it, it is actually...quite magnificent, it plays very quietly without any skips or noises and is a genuine Excellent. It has marks consistent with frequent but careful use.
What It IS though a genuine 1st press and has the Jim Simpson big bear Birmingham. it was played only this morning on a Linn Axis via Akito tonearm and Ortofon 540 cartridge.
I realise that it is likely to realise a half decent sales price so as a result I will only post Special Delivery UK and only Tracked,Insured and Signed for overseas
