The landmark Paranoid lp by Black Sabbath, in its best sounding format and press. This item is the original vintage 1st press 1970 Japanese Philips Vertigo SFX 7266 release. The complete package.
Vinyl - Visual VG++ . A few light hairlines and wisps.
Play grade M- . Pretty astounding. I rarely give any vinyl a play grade as high as this. I cleaned the lp with MFSL Super Deep Cleaner, MFSL Pure Rinse and my Nitty Gritty machine. Run ins and run outs, dead air between songs - 99.9% silence. The nuances of Planet Caravan and Electric Funeral/Hand Of Doom had me thinking I was listening to an SACD or DVD audio. This lp meant alot to this (at the time) 13 year old when it came out so I have heard most every issue of this vinyl. If you buy (investment) lps like this to listen to, this is the copy you want. Throw it down when you have the urge or better yet wait until a Sabbath fan other than you is visiting. Watch their jaws drop as they hear this lp for the first time.. These days I don't listen to alot of Sabbath (although 13 is pretty cool)..I listen to the 1st 6 Sabbath lps once a year on general principals so this vinyl has been committed to my hard drive for future listening parties. It is time for someone else to be the caretaker of this startling Japanese vinyl press and mix.
Cover - VG++ . Very light corner wear bottom right. Tiny corner ding upper right hand corner. Small corner ding front lower left hand corner. Two very small faint creases back cover. Spine is M-. Clear bold print. No rubbing, no ringwear, no seamwear, no feathering along the opening. The inside of the gatefold cover is clean.
Obi - VG/VG+ . Two small areas display light folds and crinkles bottom of Obi. One tiny tear that was professionally repaired at some point. One has to really look for it to notice it. Light age spotting to white rear of Obi. No other wear, rubbing, discoloration, stains, writing, rips or tears.
Play graded on a Rega P3 turntable with a rewired RB300 tonearm and Dynavector 10 X 5 cartridge. Results may vary.
