Description

An original 1st issue on the WWA label from 1973. Remember - true 1st issue was on Vertigo a couple of years earlier. This WWA copy comes immediately after the last Vertigo copies. So soon after that the initial WWA copies that the Vertigo catalogue number is still being stamped into the deadwax. Matrix 2/2. The vinyl comes housed in an original laminated cover. Will come housed in Decca lined inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Vg+/Vg) In very nice condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a level of playback varying between VERYGOOD+ and VERYGOOD with one deviation. Not clean enough to grade higher. But thankfully SABBATH are mostly at full kilter and the bit of crackle exhibited is largely in the background. Do expect it, though, here and there throughout. Most of the tracks still play very nice indeed. Only on 'Planet Caravan', due to its low key nature, does the crackle start to become a bit more noticeable. I detected a couple of ticks in 'Electric Funeral'. Still a very nice and enjoyable rendition.
Cover (Ex) A really nice looking cover and that laminate has preserved things superbly on the outside. Shiny front and back with bold colouring and deep blacks...love it! The interior looks very smart - smooth and unaged. Just slight surface abrasion up at the top in a couple of small spots. Minimal edge wear and sharp openings. The spine is 100% intact - very nice! Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
