Black Sabbath Paranoid Vinyl 1st Press 1970 UK Large Vertigo Swirl 6360011 1/1.
An era defining record that brought the heavy rock sound to a whole new audience and propelled Black Sabbath to global rock stardom. From the very first feedback drenched power chord and the underlying, haunting sirens of 'War Pigs', this album grabs the listeners and doesn't let them go. With standards such as 'Iron Man' and 'Fairies Wear Boots', and of course not to mention the title track, this is a must have for Sabbath die-hards and Rock fans alike.
This is a rare opportunity to own a genuine 1st UK press Paranoid album with the legendary LARGE Vertigo swirl.
VINYL: The vinyl has the usual age related surface marks, most of which are superficial and do not affect the playback. However there are three very brief skips over the course of the album. The first one is during the run-in on side one (it does not affect the track). The second one is during track three (side one). The third one is during track two (side two). This is such a shame because the rest of the audio sounds great throughout. There is very mild background, which can only be heard in between tracks, but this is what you would expect for an album of this age. It would certainly grade as at least a VG+ without the three pesky skips. Certainly one to turn up to 11 and rock out to!
LABEL: The iconic Vertigo swirl labels are in stunning condition, free from any unwanted writing.
SLEEVE: The original non-laminate gatefold sleeve is in generally decent condition. It suffers from wear to the edges, the spine and where the record has left its mark (see pictures). This is typical for non-laminate sleeves from this period. There is also a slight seam split at the lower opening (2 inches). Despite these issues, the iconic imagery still looks great!
Sadly, the swirl inner was lost at some point back in the day.
This record has been play tested, honestly described and carefully graded. This is not one for the audiophiles but a decent copy that sounds great and is a fraction of the price of others on the market!
