Description

An original 1st issue of SBS on the UK WWA label from winter 1973. Matrix 2/2. This particular pressing would have been available whilst the album was still charting over winter 1973. Please note labels are consistent with 1st issue - the WWA logo is silver, and not white - and there is no ridge at the outer edge as on later copies. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in the original 1st issue cover without printing credit on the rear. Please note 1st issue covers are easily identified by the band photo in the interior which extends right to the covers edge and is not cropped like on later copies. Also included is a 1st issue inner sleeve made of very thin paper and manually stamped along the foot with 'made in great Britain' and patent numbers. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference, thankfully, is both minor and infrequent. We didn't detect anything more than a brief moment or two of light static throughout the whole record. Even 'Fluff' - the acoustic number plays very nice and clean - and that's not always an easy find. A beautiful original player.
Cover (Vg) In great shape and is the de facto original 1st issue. This title really is super difficult to find in great condition. The black and front nearly always show significant surface wear. But this copy fairs reasonably well with only light surface wear. Please note there is a sticker removal mark in the top right corner - it has been coloured in black. It is both very minor and practically invisible to the naked eye. Then there's the rear - many copies, by now, exhibit significant ageing and wear. This example is by no means clean, but it doesn't fair too badly at all - just with a date written neatly in the top right corner. Edge wear is reasonably light and the text on the spine is mostly still legible. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity. 
Inner (Ex) Very very difficult to find in top condition like this. Barely any ageing and no marks or splits.
