Description

An original genuine 1st press of SBS on the WWA label from Xmas 1973. Matrix 1/1. Please note only genuine 1st press has the following attributes... Flat label - no ridges...and SILVER WWA logo [later they were white]. The heavy set vinyl, pre-oil crisis, comes housed in an original uncropped [the interior image stretches right to the edge with no border] and uncreditted gatefold cover - per absolute 1st issue. Also included is the fine textured inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. The LP, which is an absolute beaut, will come housed in a Nagoka anti-static sleeve to protect it.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow, this is one very nice looking copy and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. At this point I do have to admit a certain level of bias on this LP - this is probably my favourite Sabbath album..I absolutely love it. And this genuine 1st plays back nigh on perfect. The audio powers through and it does a fantastic job of rendering what are some very complex and heavy-hitting passages. I can't really fault it..it just aces it in all the right areas. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were couple of low-level crackles in FLUFF and perhaps a couple elsewhere, but even FLUFF plays much cleaner than you usually find. Unqualified super copy.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and these original covers are difficult to find in top-line condition due to the way they were manufactured. The front is pretty decent with a modicum of handling wear and that diagonal mark down in the bottom right. The rear is exhibiting a bit of ageing as is common on these original copies and a couple of age spots over toward the opening. The interior looks pretty much perfect and that uncropped image just looks fab. Edge wear is mostly light, but do expect a few patches of wear on the spine. Most of the text appears still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Lightest ageing. No splits or markings...Amazing really!
