Description
Original UK NEMS label stereo press LP!This is the sixth studio album from Black Sabbath, recorded at Morgan Studios, London in March 1975 and released in June 1975. The band wanted to get back to their rock roots after the 1974 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' album and were in legal disputes with their manager. The ongoing legal wrangles during the recording led to the hidden track at the end of side two 'Blow On A Jug' being added after 'The Writ' by Tony Iommi, who produced the album.
This is the original press with the hidden track, the textured Robert Stace cover, the black & silver 'NEMS Records & Tapes' labels and the 1Y//1 2Y//2 matrices of the first presses.
The Robert Stace textured matt sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing on the cover. The plain company inner sleeve is intact and in EX condition. The spine is intact and still readable, slightly worn & in VG+ condition.
The record is in visually EX condition, with a few very faint sleeve removal hairlines and a couple of small neeedle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a few faint spindle markings on eaxh side. The sound reproduction is VG+ to EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves and a couple of clicks in the quiet intro of track 3, side 1. Overall, still a really great, loud & clear listen. The matrix nos. are; 9119001, 1Y//1 stamper 1-1-8, 2Y//2 stamper 1-1-22. This is one of the early copies of the first pressing of the original UK stereo issue of this classic 1975 album.
