ParanoidOriginal 1st Press UK LP released in 1970 on the large Vertigo Swirl Label. Cat: 6360 011. This album has a gatefold sleeve. Features Jim Simpson & Big Bear credit on inside of gatefold. Comes with original Vertigo Swirl printed inner bag which has writing on both sides and is in VG+ condition. Matrix Numbers: 1Y#1(upside down triangle) 420/2Y#1(upside down triangle)420. Wonderful to hear an original 1st pressing of this awesome album. The bottom end sounds wonderful!!
Paranoid was not only Black Sabbath's most popular record (it was a number one smash in the U.K., and "Paranoid" and "Iron Man" both scraped the U.S. charts despite virtually nonexistent radio play), it also stands as one of the greatest and most influential heavy metal albums of all time. Paranoid refined Black Sabbath's signature sound crushingly loud, minor-key dirges loosely based on heavy blues-rock and applied it to a newly consistent set of songs with utterly memorable riffs, most of which now rank as all-time metal classics. Where the extended, multi-sectioned songs on the debut sometimes felt like aimless jams, their counterparts on Paranoid have been given focus and direction, lending an epic drama to now-standards like "War Pigs" and "Iron Man" (which sports one of the most immediately identifiable riffs in metal history).

There are some light spindle marks on labels but otherwise labels are lovely and clean. Record has light scuff marks and scratches that do cause some light crackles throughout. There are a few scratches that cause some light popping. Halfway through War pigs there are about 5 pops also end of Electric funeral going into Hand of doom there are light pops for about 1/4 of song. This record has been carfully cleaned and listened through on both sides it does not jump or skip. Wonderful to have the opportunity to listen to a first UK pressing of this awesome album, record is graded at VG. Thick gatefold cover has a large surface tear on front and back of cover. There is some writing on inside of gatefold sleeve on left. Cover also has light ring wear and some light surface tears around edges and slight scuffing on corners. There are no seam splits. Cover is in VG condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
