Description
On offer here is a very nice copy of Black Sabbath Vol.4 (1972), in the gatefold sleeve with four-page booklet attached, on the swirl Vertigo label, with all the hallmarks of a first pressing. A conservative assessment of condition is EX/EX and I suspect this record has been played comparatively little.
Stamped on side A are 6360071, the codes 1Y//1 and 11 19 and the hand-incised 'Porky', whilst side B has 2Y//1, 11 19 and 'Pecko'. See pic 6.
The sleeve is in excellent condition with remarkably little edge-wear except a little at the corners. There are one or two small nicks here and there on the faces but these are minor. The booklet is in excellent order (no creases or folds etc) with a few little nicks in the page with Ozzy's picture which you might be able to make out towards the top right.
It's been a long time since I've sold a record on Ebay so forgive me if my description of the disc is a bit lacking. Visually it looks near mint to me, with no scratches or scuffs. I've played a few sections and there is no distortion (other than that recorded at the time!) or needle chatter. Yes, there's a little surface noise but nothing that detracts. There is little if any visible wear to the spindle holes which suggests it hasn't been played much. Other Ebayers might call it near-mint but I'm more comfortable with excellent. I doubt there are many better copies, other than those that have been unplayed. The only thing that is lacking is the swirl inner sleeve - this copy only has a plain one.
P+P £3.50. Payment by PayPal please. Feel free to ask any questions.
