LARGE Vertigo swirl logo! Earliest stampers 1 / 1 . These stampers are mega rare especially as these are the earliest mothers on BOTH sides of the vinyl. A mega rare vintage first press…. THE very first pressing of this magnificent album release .Impossible to locate now especially in this awesome, stunning condition. No collection should be without this Black Sabbath speciality ! Made an awesome impact and rocked the pop world on its release ,in early 1970.

1970 vintage heavy rock prog classic ! One of the most important and significant hard rock debut albums to hit the music arena ,making Sabbath one of the most influential rock groups of the early seventies.

Black and white swirl labels graced with the unique and MEGA RARE Philips Record Co. credits! This rare text confirms that this is a very rare and the very first pressing of this album release. Later issues do not have this credit on the labels. Almost IMPOSSIBLE to locate nowadays!! Later reissue vertigo labels do not have this on !! Really special indeed. Phillips was the subsidiary company that launched these fantastic vertigo labels,( similar to Deram connections with Decca).This is  the EARLIEST first pressing of this huge, heavy rock album owing to the Phillips credits on the lower half of the label. While Vertigo was a new, unfamiliar record label, people needed to know who the manufacturer was. Once the vertigo label was established in the industry, Phillips chose to omit the credit on the later releases.

These very rare FIRST ISSUE labels are in  Excellent + condition with only a few spiderlines. No mottling,peeling or discoloration. Beautiful condition.

Vinyl

NO scratches!! Graded under ordinary light     conditions !Has a few very light hairlines where sleeve has brushed the surfaces if angled against the halogen light with NO ugly blemishes! Excellent++/NMint minus visual appearance. Beautiful glossy sheen with glass like surfaces, similar to mint vinyl! Very rare to find like this as most are found to be very heavily scratched with colossal surface damage . Superb visual . Stunning heavy weight vinyl.

Audio

Opens with EXCELLENT grooves , the raindrops crystal clear as the clap of thunder launches the deep bass guitar riffs in sensational style. A sensational aural delivery of Sabbath’s VERY first release !!!! How rare is this? Most of these records were very heavily played resulting in massive groove wear and surface damage. This vinyl looks freshly pressed and lightly played. Unbelievable! A truly stunning audio with excellent channels ,maintaining this standard throughout the entire playback ! There is no deterioration in sound quality. A solid excellent aural delivery without a doubt and even better in some parts! Absolutely breathtaking reception of one of Sabbath’s best productions . Almost impossible to find a heavy rock album in this outstanding condition , especially the very first Black Sabbath album release!!.

Album sleeve

Opening first issue gatefold in excellent condition. Unlaminated with fragile inner faces in superb condition. INVERTED cross with the lyrics INSIDE !!!! Ozzie’s name misspelt also. THE earliest issue of this fantastic heavy rock classic. NO tears or rips. Has slight wear on lower edge and three tiny corner scuffs, showing their grey tips. THIS is THE original first issue gatefold sleeve  as vertigo recordings credits are replaced with stereo recordings on inner face of gatefold ,as this was a mistake that had to be quickly corrected..  !  Later gatefolds have the vertigo inscription on right inner face. Even the much later issues had the credit “All recordings”. So this very rare stereo credit confirms that this IS THE very  first issue and THE earliest gatefold of this album and is in excellent/superb condition.

Also comes with THE original swirl inner sleeve. Poly lining has no tears and is near perfect. Excellent+ + condition. So clean and barely touched. No discoloration observed. Slightest nick around central hole only.Beautiful, clean condition.

A phenomenal album presentation. So rare to find like this and will guarantee that you will never find a better example of this truly, very influential, hard rock classic release!
