Description
Greetings everybody! Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by yet another of my ebay record auctions! If you have been to my listings before, and you were wondering what happened last week.....gomen nasai, my apologies. I ran out of steam last Wednesday, and Thursday...we had ourselves a nice little storm roll through our area that knocked a lot of people in this area offline. So if you missed me.....somehow I have a difficult time imagining that.....sorry for the downtime. To those of you who have kept coming back.....I thank you very much and I won't ask what kind of meds you are on. If you haven't been to my listings before, I hope that i'll have something that might just pique your interest. But to one and all, welcome!
Yes, I am still in the midst of starting most all of my listings at under a dollar, and will attempt to continue to do so until ebay starts their new listings transformation next month. I will do my best not to list anything that there are already tons of listings already around, and I will do my best to start things low-so anyone who wants in on the ground floor-the door is open. Sometimes it will be a record in top condition, sometimes it will be something in much lower condition-but still something not everyday.
This listing for instance.
This time up, I have an LP release from 1978 on the Solar Sound Record & Tapes label, label # LP-PP-SS-001, by Blair (actually Barney Blair Perry) titled "Night Life". This is from the disco period of the late 70's and though people may not be familiar with this artist (yours truly being one), this is the person who wrote the biggest hit of the Blackbyrds career, "Walking In Rhythm" as well as doing much work with many disco and jazz artists of the time, and this LP apparently is regarded as a collectible. Well, in some cases it might. However, this LP has seen better days and nights. I got this recently when I purchased a collection and this caught my eye as I had not seen it before. No wonder, it's a small label based out of Buffalo, NY. Yeah, a Buffalo based record label that's NOT all about polka! Anyways, back to my point about the LP having seen better times. This LP does have wear. A lot of wear. Side one isn't too bad, but there are still needle marks in many places. Side 2 is where the "ouch" is. More needle marks, some scratching (none appear to be deep), some smudges, and there is a spot on the 2nd & 3rd track that might be cleanable, but that's where the nastiness is. This LP would be great for someone who does digital restoration. But as it is, I cannot grade this any higher than a V. That's my grading folks, my grading is below, and if you could please take the minute to look, it would help us both. The cover is flat out beat. There is ring wear, bending and the top and bottom seams are both torn. The back cover is still readable, if you're into liner notes. I figure this is the kind of LP I could start at under a buck, and perhaps someone might even consider it a bargain. But that's up to you folks. if you need more pics, or more information or description...or heck, even if you just have something you need to get off your chest, please feel free to send me a message-I will get back to you! Promise!
In case anyone's wondering, here is my scale for grading. M - Mint. Reserved for still factory sealed.N- Near Mint, opened, no marks whatsoever. E+, no marks other than a smudge that i'm too lazy to clean. E, a light mark or 2, probably won't affect play. (why "probably"? Because everyone claims their hearing is better than the next persons'.) E-, marks or wear that will cause a little audible affectation. V+, wear that will cause some distortion of some type. V, V-, P, well, you get the picture.
I know, it's not great, good, or even decent condition. But as I type this-there are no listings for this LP on ebay. I figure for under a buck to start? There is one now!

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR NON-U.S. BIDDERS!!!!
All items I sell will be sent with a copy of the sale form, printed up from eBay. I will not "mark item as a gift", just so you can evade import rules. The people at my post office know me, and they will check overseas packages for inspection. If you cannot comply with that, please do not bid.
Also, international bidders, the price listed for postage on my listings are for domestic mailing. I wish I could send overseas for that price, but reality speaks different. I place a fair price on all international postage. Watch for the invoice if you win.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All items that are sent to a U.S. address will have delivery confirmation (at my cost) attached, as I have found that it helps...a lot!....to ensure that packages are truly en route to the customer. This is for both of our sakes. I will be using USPS "Media Mail" as my primary shipping method, however, if needed, and for an extra charge, I can ship with "Priority Mail", and if i can get away with it for the price, I really like 1st Class, but that's weight-dependent.
Oh yes, if you are the winning bidder, and you are in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I'm afraid you are going to have to fork over the 5% Virginia State Sales Tax.
Paypal is my preferred method of payment, if you need another way, please contact me before bidding. Or, if you have any other questions about this listing, or any of my listings, please feel free to contact me. I will answer any & all questions as quickly and concisely as possible.
Alrighty! I hope there's someone in the soul/disco cognoscenti world out there who might appreciate this LP. If not, well, there are still a few weeks to go until the new shakeup to the listings here. Maybe i'll get some interest there. If you made it this far, thank you very much! I hope it was worth your time! If so, or even if not...no prob-I still got plenty to list! Keep watchin'!
