On offer, an extremely rare first U.K. pressing of Blind Faith – Blind Faith on Polydor, cat. no. 583 059, with the second, “non-nude” cover.
The record is in EX condition, there are a few non – sounding hairlines only. The labels are in EX condition as well, there are a few spindle marks only.
The laminated single cover is in EX condition, there is only one slight crease, caused by storage, but further no writing, no rips or tears or other damage. The original Polydor company inner sleeve is also still present and it’s in EX condition.
As you already may have seen, this is the second (censored) cover. The story behind this cover is that some shop owners were offended by the first cover, the one with the nude girl on the front, and they refused to sell this record with that particular cover. So Polydor had to produce a new cover to meet the demands of the shops. However, many shops completely rolled over and started to stock the normal nude girl cover (by demand of the music buying public) and only a few shops still refused to sell the first cover. As a result of the many shops who stocked the first cover, this second cover became incredibly rare.
This is an extremely rare first pressing of Blind Faith’s album with a completely different cover. This one is much rarer than the “nude girl” cover and only 1 in every 50 copies has this cover. A real must have for all Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood or 1960’s record fans! Happy Bidding!
