Description
This is Yazoo Records L-1005, Blind Willie McTell The Early Years 1927-1933, a black label mono compilation of these classic sides. Belzona Records became Yazoo records during production of L-1006, therefore this is a 2nd issue, but because it is a black label and Belzona became Yazoo so close to the initial issuing of this record, I can surmise this is a very early pressing. The record is in VG++ condition showing a few light sleeve marks keeping it from being near mint. The record plays quietly throughout. The cover has some tape residue but is excellent and intact. The labels are excellent and show no spindle marks. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12 in mono mode. This is a superb collector's grade copy of this classic record. This is part of a nice collection of classic blues from such labels as Belzona / Yazoo, Origin, Herwin, JEMF and Library Of Congress that I will be listing over the next few days.
