Blink 182: Short Bus 7” Split with Iconoclasts

Maroon Color Vinyl

First Ever Blink 182 Release - April of 1995

Ultra Rare Limited Press of Only 250

> Product Description:

This is Blink’s FIRST EVER RELEASED RECORDING - the Holy Grail of Blink 182 collectibility.  This was released before the band changed its name to Blink 182 due to that silly copyright issue with that Techno group named Blink.  This was recorded when Scott Raynor was drumming for the band and before Travis Barker quit the Aquabats in 1998 to join Blink 182.  This is a split record with a band called the Iconoclasts who later became Alien Ant Farm.  From what I have researched, only 250 copies were ever released.  This record is over ten years old and many of the original copies have been damaged or lost and I can only guess at home many few remain.

This record is pressed on semi-translucent Maroon Red Vinyl. I have been the only owner of this 7” record since its original purchase and I played it only once to make a cassette copy so it is in near mint condition.

This is what Blink has said about the recording AKA Blink's message of hope:  “This side of the record was rusted, recorded, mixed, remixed, and generally f’ked up in early summer 1994 at Doubletime Studios in the heart of California. Jeff Forrest  engineered it all,  We used the two inch reel, which costs about six times as much as the one inch reel, and ends up sounding the same. Go figure. During the course of the recording, Tom confessed his love for solid-stock electronics, and had what was perhaps the worst gas of all time. Mark cussed incessantly, while alternately picking his nose, scratching his balls, and cupping his farts onto people, never quite understanding why his hand smelled so funny. Scott spent a good deal of time at the sound board, in search of some elusive "plastic" sound on the bass drum. "Could you plasticate the bass drum a little more?" (whatever the f’k that means) we never really figured it out, and the world may never know. Failing that, Scott played darts. Sorry that this record sounds so cheezy. It's not our fault. The place that it was pressed at turned out to be lame, and by the time we discovered this fact, the money was spent. Hope it didn't cost you more than a couple of bucks to buy. If so, you have our apologies, sucker!”
Feel free to message any question prior to purchase. Happy bidding!
