Blood Sweat & Tears Child Is The Father To The Man WLP Mono LP CS 9619 Al Kooper
Rare 1968 original promo-only mono variant, issued in a stereo jacket (CS 9619) w/ custom hype sticker and timing strip affixed directly to front jacket. Columbia 2-Eye white labels, and what I’m almost positive is the original generic inner.
Jacket…G, with decent general wear, split to the bottom right 4” of bottom seam, heavy rubbing to remainder of bottom seam, corners and top 2” of spine. mono hype sticker has “Colu” scripted in pen on the top left corner, significant tearing to timing strip.
Inner…VG++, with light foxing, inner remains completely intact. Corner creasing, but no splits.
Vinyl…Visually VG, with some light traces of groove wear and surface scratches. Generally looks very solid, but has some issues. Grades audibly anywhere from G (a track or two) to a solid VG+. Side 1, track 1 plays with moderate surface noise throughout, but pretty much settles down for the rest of the side, playing strongly with the exception of some light crackle during “Without Her.”
Side two displays some light surface noise during “Meagan’s Gypsy Eyes”, two loud pops prior to “House In The Country.” From the end of that song and through “Modern Adventures…” things get noisy, with ticking issues weaving in and out of the mix for the duration of the song, before settling back down for the side two closer. 1C/1C stampers. Labels are suprisingly beautiful. No spindles whatsoever.
