Up for bid is a rare LP, "Down With It," by The Blue Mitchell Quintet. This was relased by Blue Note (BLP 4214) in 1964. Matrix info includes an "ear," with "Van Gelder" stamped on either side. On side one, the white "Blue Note" lettering that appears in the blue area to the left and bottom have blue ink smeared across it (from the factory). On side 2, the blue lettering on the top of the interior label that reads "33 1/3 Microgroove" has been smeared (from the factory - see pictures). Interior labels have a "New York USA" address. Both sides have an "R" underneath the "E" in "Note" across the bottom of the interior labels. LP is VG+, with scuffs and several tiny light scratches on either side. LP retains a nice gloss. Interior labels are very clean. LP plays with some light surface noise (crackle, tics, and a few light pops), with no skips. Listen to an excerpt of each song from this actual LP for reference:

Jacket is VG+, with a couple of small seam splits - still in the original shrink wrap. There is a small split at the front top right corner about 1/8 inch long. There is another small split on the top seam at the front top left corner about 1/8 inch long. There is wear on the exposed top and bottom right corners. There is ring wear on the front and back of the jacket. The jacket is dirty underneath the shrink wrap. There is a small spot of discoloration in the center of the top of the top seam. (This area is exposed, as the shrink in this location has been torn - see pictures). A previous owner had pulled the shrink back far enough along the back along the lip to write his name in black ink (see pictures). Includes original interior paper sleeve. Don't miss this rare gem! We will pack this securely for safe delivery - this will be a little heavy due to the inserts we put in the LP mailer. LP will be removed from the jacket prior to being packed in mailer.
