I was a Disc Jocky & live recording engineer at a radio station in San Francisco and Sandy Pearlman gave me this for doing a B.Ö.C. radio giveaway for an upcoming concert.I've hung onto this and treasured it all these years.As you collectors know, this was only given out to the media in 1972 to play on the airwaves.Sure I have my initials in black marker on the front cover,but,it's only a plain white jacket.The important thing is it has the original sleeve in excellent condition,and, MORE IMPORTANT, the vinyl is MINT just like it came off the presses. I doubt you'll ever see another of these especially in this condition.

Issued in October of 1972, ten months following the release of Blue Öyster Cult's self-titled debut LP, the limited issue Bootleg EP was made exclusively available to the media. The rare recording of four concert tracks of early era BÖC on-stage mayhem features "The Red and The Black", which previewed the loose conceptual theme that would tie together the Long Island based band's forthcoming sophomore album, Tyranny and Mutation (Columbia/February 1973).
Recorded during a gig in Rochester, New York, at Nugget's Pizza Parlor (yes, you read that correctly), which was broadcast via the WCMF ariwaves, the raw Bootleg EP also packs on the amped-up "Buck's Boogie", "Workshop of the Telescopes", and the apacolyptic "Cities on Flame With Rock and Roll". While the symbol of Kronos (saturn) is nowhere to be found on the plain white sleeve, the Bootleg EP is the holy grail of Blue Öyster Cult collectibles.
