Description
You are bidding on a used test pressing copy of the Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties LP released by Columbia Records in 1974. This is KC 32858. In the dead wax, the matrix numbers are stamped:
Side A: P AL 32858-1B
Side B: P BL 32858-1C
The test pressing was pressed at Columbia's pressing plant in Pittman, New Jersey. As stated on the labels of the record, this test pressing was used for advance promotion of the album! It comes with a copy of the mastering sheet, a 4 page bio on the group plus the cover letter from Columbia's promotional department.
The record is visually in VG condition, but plays strong and sounds good, with some occasional light surface noise. It has a bit of a filmy sheen to the vinyl, which we think may be caused from an old outer polyvinyl sleeve that may have leeched a bit. When we originally purchased this record, we found it stored in paper sleeve with an old polysleeve over it. Not sure if this had something to do with this, but it is our hunch at least.
The bio, mastering sheet, and cover letter are VG condition with some wear and foxing to the edges of the paper.

We visually grade all of our records for sale and grade both the record and the jacket. We go by general standards for grading, which are:
Mint (M) - an unplayed, new copy of a record. no visual defects!
Near Mint (NM) - a nearly perfect record that has usually only been played 1-3 times, in "like new" condition.
Very Good + (VG+) - record still in excellent condition but has minor signs of wear such as surface scuffs/light scratches that don't affect the play. jacket has minor signs of wear such as light ringwear, edgewear, shelfwear, and/or light creasing.
Very Good (VG) - record has more wear than VG+ and may have some slight surface noise, light pops, some scuffs or scratches. generally still a great playing copy. jacket may have more wear, writing, sticker residue, punch out/cut out holes or corners.
Very Good - (VG-) - record has noticeable groove wear, surface noise, scratches, and/or scuffs but still a decent playing copy. jacket has heavier wear and may have a small split seam.
Good + and Good (G+ and G) - record still plays without skipping but has considerable amounts of groove wear, surface noise, scuffs, and/or scratches. jacket has alot of wear and some defects such as split seams, heavy creasing, writing, marks, sticker residue, etc...
