Bluebird 34-0714 Lonnie Johnson - (A) Lonesome Road; (B) Baby, Remember Me. May 1944. This record is looks very nice cosmetically (was treated well by it’s owner leaving only a few very light marks). Unfortunately the owner played it a lot. Under high intensity lighting there is groove wear evident and this accounts for a lot of surface noise which actually varies in places from moderate to high. So it’s a tough one to grade. Visually you’d probably say E until you see it under the bright lighting which reveals the groove graying. The play grade probably falls to a V. The musical content is not bad and almost completely free of distortion. Not a great player due to the high level of groove noise though Lonnie’s singing and guitar playing come through well and aren’t overwhelmed by the noise.
