Excellent minus condition, light surface marks, low surface noise, no noticeable warpage but light thumps at start of side aa when played in stereo that disappear when played in mono (hear sample), writing on label – side a, sticker on label – side aa (see scans), vocal/guitar with band, side a – instrumental, Los Angeles, 1951

I have been collecting & playing traditional blues for over 40 years. Many of the records offered for sale have been in my collection for some time. Records are graded visually and confirmed by playing. I grade 78s conservatively using the VJM scale. This means records graded N- are nearly spotless and records graded G, although considerably worn, still play with music being slightly dominant to surface noise. Specific flaws will be noted along with the grade.

N- (almost New) E+, E (Excellent, low surface noise) E-, V+, V (Very good, medium surface noise) V-, G+, G (not so Good, heavy surface noise but still plays) G-, F (Fairly bad) P (Poor)

note: Sticker & stamp are labeled: Summerrise. Bob Summerrise owned a record shop in Seattle from the early 1950’s through the 60’s. Bob also hosted Jazz and Rhythm & Blues shows on local radio. In the mid 70’s I had the opportunity to buy 78s from his personal collection and remaining stock.
