Awesome Debut 4 Track 10" Vinyl EP from Blues Pills.

Not released on CD this Debut Vinyl 10" EP is now very rare and hard to find as it was only pressed in a small run, limited edition in 2012, (not sure exactly how many but some sources quote just 250 copies were pressed)!

Lead track 'Bliss' is a storming rocker with a great riff. It slows in the middle eight with some mellower, bluesy lead guitar then builds to a full speed crescendo and blistering solo. Similar in pace and style to High Class Woman, it's a shame this song did not make it onto the album.

Astralplane is the original version with a different, softer intro and is markedly different in feel and arrangement to the new longer recording on the album. Devil Man is the original recording with the stunning acapella intro and is a little slower and more bluesy than the album version plus almost one and a half minutes longer. Little Sun is very different from the later album recording and has much more of a late 1960's/early 70's sound.

The three tracks premiered here and later rerecorded from scratch for the debut album show the promise of Blues Pills talent right from the start. Arguably one or two of the early versions of songs premiered on this EP are preferable to the later rerecording's and in effect act as demos for what was to come. - Audiophile Note: the EP was only released in physical form on Vinyl, there was no CD release and the download version sold on YOU-KNOW-WHICH well known website is a poor quality compressed digital file that sounds like it was created from a vinyl rip rather than from the master tapes!

As essential, must have EP and prized possession for all serious Blues Bills fans, (if you can find a copy as they are very scarce and usually sell very quickly on the rare occasions they come up for sale), great songs in their original form and an excellent introduction to the band.
